My Camping Equipment for Jungle Trekking

My Camping Equipment for Jungle Trekking

All our camping equipment that we take on a 4 day jungle trek. We hope you can learn some tips by seeing all our gear laid out like this 🙂 Every terrain type requires different items of backpacking gear, some of the backpacking gear that you see in the video is useful in all terrains. When trekking in the jungle it’s very important to have a plan for keeping your spare clothes completely dry, particularly those that you’ll wear at night.
The merino wool thermal wear is always set aside for night time resting, they are kept in the most waterproof areas of our backpacks. There are lots of other videos on our channel about jungle camping and trekking.

Hiking with porters is great, the best way to find reliable porters is in the simple villages close to the wilderness area that you wish to trek in 🙂 The porters and guides you see in this video all know those trails like the back of their hands. In some cases they themselves are the only people maintaining the trails. Without regular machete trail clearing the jungle would take over and the tracks would disappear. These guys don’t own fancy power tools and chainsaws! The most amazing jungle trekking guide we’ve ever met is seen at the very beginning of the video carrying 2 backpacks at once and simultaneously slashing away at the same time 🙂 His name is Dinio Castom, he’s a Tuat’ Bato native on the island of Palawan, Philippines. The 6 days we spent trekking with him was the toughest hike we’ve ever done. To see more of this real jungle survivor CLICK HERE
